What to Measure Before Requesting New Doors

Preliminary measurements help us understand the project. They are not a substitute for the final dimensions used to manufacture your door package.

01

Record the opening and existing door

Note approximate width and height, the wall or frame depth, and whether you are measuring the leaf or the opening. Photograph the whole opening and both sides so the context is clear.

02

Include the details around it

Show floor finishes, trim, nearby walls and any switches or obstructions. Record the desired swing or sliding direction and whether the frame will remain.

03

Use the free site visit to confirm

TrueFrames offers a free on-site measurement. Final manufacturing dimensions, handing and system requirements are confirmed as part of the specification process.
